Rockets beat Phoenix to keep hopes alive
Rockets men boosted their chances of defending The Hundred title with a 46-run victory over Phoenix
Trent Rockets defeated the Birmingham Phoenix by 46 runs in a crucial match on Saturday. The win boosted the Rockets' chances of defending their title while it knocked the Phoenix out of contention.
Rockets batted first on a tricky pitch at Trent Bridge and posted a challenging total of 162-6. Colin Munro top-scored with 34, while Sam Hain made 30.
The Phoenix struggled in their chase and were eventually bowled out for 116-9. Jamie Smith top-scored with 38, but he was out lbw to Matt Carter.
Rockets move to second place in the table, but they have played one game more than most of the other teams. They need to win their last match against the Oval Invincibles on Monday and hope other results go their way.
