Trent Rockets keep Sciver-Brunt and Gregory as 2023 captains

Same again in 2023 for Trent Rockets

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Lewis Gregory have been named as the captains of Trent Rockets’ women’s and men’s sides, respectively, with The Hundred now just two weeks away.

Sciver-Brunt, who has previously captained both England and Trent Rockets, is seeking to guide her side to the final of the competition, having finished third in last year’s edition. She will skipper her side at the opening game of The Hundred on 1 August, with Trent Rockets hosting Southern Brave in Nottingham.

Gregory, meanwhile, led Trent Rockets to victory in 2022, with an unbeaten 17 off six balls in the final at Lord’s to secure silverware. His star-studded squad again includes international quality in Rashid Khan and Joe Root, with local favourites Alex Hales and Samit Patel set to wear Trent Rockets colours for a third year.

Trent Rockets Women's captain Nat Sciver-Brunt said:

"It’s already been an amazing summer of cricket in terms of entertainment and drama, and that is only going to grow with The Hundred this year. Captaincy is something that excites me, and certainly, with the squad that we’ve assembled, I think we have a good chance of being successful. We have also been roared on by some support both home and away, so I’m looking forward to playing in front of those crowds again, taking this side forward, making memories on and off this pitch."

Trent Rockets Men's captain Lewis Gregory said:

"To lift the trophy at Lord’s last year was a really special day, and to get the opportunity to try and do that again is definitely exciting. We have a really good group; we enjoy playing together and love the entire experience that The Hundred provides. The first matchday is one that we are all really looking forward to. Trent Bridge is an amazing ground to play at with the atmosphere that is created, and I can’t wait to lead Trent Rockets out again."
