How do the standings work in The Hundred?

Confused how the eight teams are ranked? We've got you covered.

Scoring points in The Hundred is pretty simple.

If you win a match, you get two points.

If you lose, you get zero points.

A tied match, or a match which doesn't finish (due to weather or other circumstances) - these earn each team one point.

Teams are then ordered from most to fewest points.

What if teams are level on points?

To figure out the order of teams who have the same number of points, a system called "net run rate" is used. It's a reasonably complex calculation, but we'll help you follow it.

Net run rate is essentially who has won their matches the most convincingly.

Imagine Team A scores 200 runs from 100 balls. Then imagine their opposition, Team B, scores 100 runs from their 100 balls.

For both teams, the run tally is divided by the balls faced. This is their run rate. So:

Team A: 200 / 100 = 2

Team B: 100 / 100 = 1

To calculate net run rate, you subtract the opposition's run rate from your own.

For Team A, that would then be 2 - 1, which would equal 1.

For Team B, that would then be 1 - 2, which would equal -1.

This calculation is applied to all teams for all of their matches.

Where teams are level on points, the team with the highest net run rate finishes highest.

Who qualifies from the Group Stage?

The team which tops the group goes straight through to The Hundred Final.

The teams which finish in second and third play each other in The Hundred Eliminator.
