Nat Sciver-Brunt and Lewis Gregory continue as Trent Rockets captains in 2024
NEWSTrent Rockets appoint pair who have led side through the first three years of The Hundred
For the fourth consecutive year, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Lewis Gregory will captain Trent Rockets during The Hundred.
Sciver-Brunt is widely considered to be one of the best players in the world, scoring more than 6500 runs and taking more than 170 wickets for England across a decade-long international career.
Her 664 runs for Rockets makes her the team's top scorer, with her innings of 81 not out lighting up Lord's last summer.
Sciver-Brunt said:
"The Hundred is a tournament I really look forward to playing in - there is a buzz to the games with so much going on.
"Especially at Trent Bridge, there is always a great party atmosphere and a crowd which really gets behind us. That makes the games so enjoyable to play in, and I know those who have been part of the group over the last few years have loved being a part of it.
"I think we’ve got a good chance of doing well in the competition itself and our fans definitely have a reason to be excited.
"We’ve got genuinely world-class talent and players who set out to entertain and put on a show, which is what The Hundred is all about."
Gregory led Rockets to the title in 2022, hitting the winning runs in the final. No other player has led Rockets Men in a match, with the team also reaching the Eliminator in 2021.
He has proven to be a reliable all-rounder in addition to his captaincy skills, with 279 runs and nine wickets.
Gregory said:
"I can’t wait to get going with Trent Rockets again.
"I think we’ve got a great chance of doing well in the competition this year, with the moves we made in the draft and the backing we get from the crowd at Trent Bridge.
"It’s an incredible atmosphere and we have a lot of players who feed off that, and love to pay back that support with exciting cricket.
"You can feel the energy on the pitch, and with the full package of music and entertainment on offer, I think it makes for an amazing day out for those who watch us."
