The eight teams have built out their squads in The Hundred Draft, powered by Sage. It was a dramatic evening of selections, live from The Shard.

Who were the first picks?

In the Women's Competition, Birmingham Phoenix had first pick, and they went for Amy Jones. The keeper-batter was not retained on Deadline Day, but returns to Edgbaston as a £50,000 selection. The remaining top band picks were all overseas players, including former Australian captain Meg Lanning.

Over in the Men's Competition, Northern Superchargers had the first choice. They went for West Indies superstar Nicholas Pooran. In all, five West Indies players were selected in the £125,000 bracket. London Spirit did not retain any players at the top band, so they had two selections here.

Which other big-name moves were there?

Perhaps the most notable signing was that of Amanda-Jade Wellington. The Hundred's leading wicket-taker has joined two-time champions Oval Invincibles, who once again boast a strong squad. Another Australian spinner, Jess Jonassen, has joined Welsh Fire. 

Grace Scrivens captained England at the U19 Women's T20 World Cup last year, being named player of the tournament. She's got a £40,000 contract at Trent Rockets. Further down the list, 16-year-old Tilly Corteen-Coleman could become the youngest player in The Hundred history after she was selected by Southern Brave.

Alice Capsey holds the record, playing in the first match of The Hundred in 2021 at 16 years and 345 days. Corteen-Coleman would break that record if she plays in either of Brave's first two matches this summer.

Shaheen Afridi is back. Welsh Fire didn't retain him on Deadline Day but they were surely always going to go for the Pakistan speedster during The Hundred Draft, powered by Sage. 

Daniel Sams is a notable mover, as he'll line up at Northern Superchargers. Manchester Originals had just three picks and made some very interesting selections, with Zimbabwe all rounder Sikandar Raza, Afghanistan pace bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi, and young left-arm English quick Josh Hull.

Any shock absentees?

Three top-priced Indian Women's players didn't get selected. Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma were all entered at the highest salary band and were not picked up.

Notable Australian men - including Josh Inglis, David Warner, and Tim David - were passed over.

What happens next?

There are two slots remaining in each of the Men's and Women's squads. These will be filled during the Vitality Wildcard Draft. Each team will select two further players closer to the start of the competition (Tuesday 23 July is the first match, remember!) - this allows for domestic players to be picked on the back of domestic form.
