Oval Invincibles are Women's Champions
NEWSOval Invincibles came through the Eliminator. Now they are champions of the Women's Competition after demolishing Southern Brave in the Final at Lord's.
Lord's. The Home of Cricket. The venue for the first ever Final in The Hundred.
It was a wet start in London. Fortunately there were no delays to the start!
Team DJs Steph Nieuwenhuys and Abbie McCarthy were all set on the stage.
Time for the toss. Southern Brave won it and chose to bowl.
It was an incredible reception for the players to walk out to.
This is what the players were looking to win. It all came down to this match.
We're not really sure what the support is here. We've got four teams covered, and we love it!
To the cricket. Georgia Adams was out early, caught off the bowling of Anya Shrubsole.
Invincibles had only 21 from the 25-ball Powerplay. Fran Wilson looked to give them some momentum, scoring 25 runs.
But Amanda-Jade Wellington got her out for 25 runs.
Marizanne Kapp played a terrific cameo, hitting 26 runs from 14 balls.
Invincibles finished on 121 runs. We know who this youngster was backing!
During the innings break, Jax Jones put on a show.
Kapp was incredible with the bat and begun just as well with the ball.
Three wickets taken in the first ten balls of the innings. Invincibles had only two runs.
This fan clearly has a new hero.
Everything was going right for Invincibles. Maia Bouchier was run out.
Brave were reduced to just 14 runs for six wickets.
Stafanie Taylor top-scored with 18. She put on something of a recovery for Brave.
But Dane van Niekerk got her out. With her went Brave's last glimmer of hope.
And then came the winning moment. Marizanne Kapp bowled Lauren Bell. Invincibles are champions. What a performance.
