London Derby Day - and it's all to play for
NEWSIt has been a mixed competition for both London-based teams - but in the final game before the last round of matches, the Invincibles and the Spirit still have the Eliminator on their minds.
It's the final double-header before the final round of Group Stage games - and both London Spirit and Oval Invincibles have a chance of making it into the top three in the Women's Competition.
Only a point separates Invincibles and Spirit as they prepare to clash at The Kia Oval - and Spirit will be out for revenge after their loss against their rivals in the first match between the two at Lord's.
The match announced the arrival of teenage star Alice Capsey, who smashed a quickfire 50. Captain Dane van Niekerk has also been a consistent threat with the bat. Invincibles go into this afternoon's match a point ahead of Spirit. Their last match against the Trent Rockets was a washout.
Spirit, meanwhile, have lived up to their name with two wins from their last two matches - and know another victory this afternoon will put them in the mix for an Eliminator slot. Deandra Dottin has starred with the bat and Deepti Sharma has been superb with the ball.
In the Men's Competition, London Spirit have nothing but pride to play for after winning just once in their first six matches.
But they were in fine fettle last time out, beating Manchester Originals at Emirates Old Trafford. Brad Wheal's bowling at the end helped them over the line.
For Invincibles, Jason Roy, Sam Billings and Colin Ingram have been influential figures with the bat. Smashing sixes for fun and entertaining huge crowds in The Hundred.
A win this afternoon would put them into the top three. But after their first match was rained off, Spirit will be out to spoil the party in South London.
