The action continues at Headingley
FEATUREThe second Saturday double-header comes from Leeds as the Northern Superchargers host the Oval Invincibles.
The Women’s Competition match starts at 2:30pm with both teams hoping to continue their brilliant starts to The Hundred. The home side have five points from their opening three so far and putting them in the top three bracket. As for Invincibles, they have also gotten off to a winning start with two wins from their opening two.
Jemimah Rodrigues has been the pick of the batters so far for Superchargers, leading the way with her run scoring and topping most of the batting charts. With the ball, Katie Levick has been a threat for her side, already taking four wickets in just the two matches played.
With the bat, opener Alice Capsey could be key to Invincibles posting another big score. Her 59 at Lord's set the tone for her side, a wonderful innings especially for a batter aged 16. Captain Dane van Niekerk will be important in both innings, with the ability to score big with the bat and take wickets with the ball.
The atmosphere at Headingley is bound to be great with fantastic entertainment and cricket on show.
The men’s sides bring an end to a brilliant quadruple-header in the final match at 6pm. Superchargers will be hoping to add a first win to their account whilst Invincibles are looking to add a second to theirs.
Batter Harry Brook may be a key figure for his side, already scoring 100 runs in The Hundred so far and finding himself towards the top of the batting leaderboards. With both bat and ball the absence of Ben Stokes may be felt however the ever reliable Adil Rashid should fill the bowling boots in his place.
As for Invincibles, Sam Billings may be a key figure with the bat in hand. He scored 49 in Invincibles' one played match so far and has the ability to hit many more. With the ball, the loss of Sam Curran may be felt but there is still a lot of threat in the Invincibles side. Nathan Sowter could fulfil a role as a key player in the bowling attack, slowing down opposition run-rate whilst taking a few wickets himself.
