FEATUREWith matchweek 2 coming to a close, we take a look at the heroes who are currently leading the way in The Hundred.
Most runs
Northern Superchargers’ Jemimah Rodrigues leads the way with runs so far, scoring 152 from her first two innings. Her 92 not out in just 43 balls against Welsh Fire helped the Superchargers to victory with 15 balls to spare.
Big-hitter Jonny Bairstow ranks first on the men’s side for runs scored with 128. The Welsh Fire captain’s 72 off 39 balls saw his side well on their way to setting a big 165 runs, which was enough to see off the Southern Brave.
Most wickets
Marchant De Lange currently leads the way with 8 wickets for the Trent Rockets. De Lange has impressed with his pace bowling and set a marker with a five-wicket haul in an opening victory over the Southern Brave.
England’s Matt Parkinson ranks second with 5 wickets, including an impressive delivery to dismiss Birmingham Phoenix’s Chris Cooke.
Tash Farrant is also on 5 wickets for the Oval Invincibles, taking 3 of those in the first ever match of The Hundred against Manchester Originals.
Rockets' Sammy-Jo Johnson is the third bowler with 5 wickets to their name. Her impressive 4 wickets for 15 runs against the Northern Superchargers meant she was the pick of the bowlers, even in defeat.
Most sixes
It’s Welsh Fire captain Jonny Bairstow who leads the way again. He has managed to clear the boundary 8 times so far, 3 more than the nearest batter.
Harry Brook of the Northern Superchargers has 5 sixes to his name so far and the rising star will be looking to add many more to that total.
Smriti Mandhana is top of the charts on the women’s leaderboard, clearing the boundary rope 3 times, all of which came in a Cazoo Match Hero performance against Welsh Fire.
Most dot balls
Sophie Ecclestone has been a thorn in the side of batters looking to score quickly so far. She currently has the most dot balls to her name with 23, that’s over an innings worth of deliveries!
Matt Parkinson currently tops the dot ball leaderboard on the men’s side. The Manchester Originals spinner has stopped batters from scoring off 19 of his deliveries so far.
