Southern Brave players to watch
FEATUREWho are the match heroes who could play a key role in Saturday's double-header for Brave?
Trent Rockets and Southern Brave face off in the the first of two double-headers in The Hundred action on Saturday. Get ready to meet your potential Match Heroes...
Anya Shrubsole
An experienced bowler, Shrubsole can set the tone with her pace. She has over 200 wickets for England since her international debut in 2008. Her trademark ball is the one which moves back into the batter. It causes them all sorts of issues.
Smriti Mandhana
A destructive opener batter, Mandhana boasts an impressive 4,000 runs for India in international cricket. She has hit over 500 fours and over 60 sixes, showing she can go big and could end up one of the highest run-scorers at the end of the competition.
Stafanie Taylor
With over 8,000 runs and 240 wickets in international cricket, Taylor could have a say in how the match goes in either innings. Playing in over 240 matches for the West Indies, Taylor is vastly experienced and will give the Brave a good chance to win the tie.
Quinton de Kock
A real big hitter with the bat and a vocal leader from behind the stumps, de Kock has seen it all. It will be his first time playing domestic cricket in England but if he can replicate his form with the bat for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, where he finished top run-scorer in 2019, the Brave will be in with a chance.
James Vince
On the back of a maiden hundred for England, Vince comes into the Men's Competition with some real form behind him. He’s scored over 7,000 runs in the shorter format of the game and whilst he can go big for the boundaries, his ability to rotate the strike can keep his side ticking during a match.
Chris Jordan
Often utilised late into the innings, Jordan’s consistent and accurate length bowling will stunt any run chase towards the end. He has been a part of the England international setup since 2013 and he keeps the runs down.
