Trent Rockets players to watch
FEATUREWho are the match heroes who could play a key role in Saturday's double-header for Rockets?
Trent Rockets and Southern Brave start the first of two double-headers in The Hundred action on Saturday. But who are the potential Match Heroes for Rockets?
Nat Sciver
As Rockets captain, Sciver has all the tools to lead her side to victory. She has been a mainstay in the England side, recently appointed the vice-captain. Her batting can be lethal, scoring over 3,500 runs in short format cricket but she is also an exceptional bowler with over 120 wickets taken.
Katherine Brunt
An experienced bowler, Brunt has been involved in the England international setup since 2004. With nearly 300 wickets for her country, she will cause problems for the opposition, whether that is opening an innings or seeing one out. Watch out too for her to have a useful cameo with the bat.
Sarah Glenn
After a blistering rise in her career, Glenn has become an important piece of the England setup as a bowling all rounder. Her spin from right to left has already got her 41 international wickets at just 21 years old. She also gives the ball a whack and can add some all important late runs.
Lewis Gregory
Rockets captain Gregory has a lot of experience with bat and ball in domestic cricket before making his England debut in 2019. With over 130 wickets in the short formats, his bowling could be decisive but his lower order finishing with the bat could also give his side those extra few runs to win the match.
Alex Hales
No stranger to big scores at Trent Bridge, Hales’ destructive batting at the top of the order will be key in the Rockets getting off to a good start. He has scored over 8,000 runs in the T20 format, hitting nearly 1,000 fours and over 300 sixes. If he gets his eye in, expect boundaries. Lots of them.
Rashid Khan
The number one Men's Draft pick in The Hundred back in 2019, Khan will be a thorn in any batter’s side. His ability to vary his bowling will keep the opposition guessing what delivery is coming next. He has over 350 T20 wickets and his experience at just 22 will be useful for the Rockets.
