Oval Invincibles and Manchester Originals will be making history as they step out onto the pitch in the first ever match in The Hundred. But who are three heroes from Manchester Originals that could swing the tie in their side’s favour?

Sophie Ecclestone:

The top ranked International T20 bowler, Ecclestone could cause any opponent problems with her spin bowling. Making her England international debut five years ago at just 17, her experience in short format cricket could make runs hard to come by for the opposition.

Lizelle Lee:

An explosive batter, Lee could get the Originals off to a great start. Often opening the batting for South Africa, her big hitting has taken her to second in the international batting rankings and a recent 132 not out against India means she is in form heading into the match.

Emma Lamb:

Lamb enters the competition as an in-form all rounder. Her ability to take wickets in recent Charlotte Edwards Cup games along with an unbeaten 111 with the bat means she could prove an important player for Originals. She could well open the batting with Lizelle Lee, which could create a very dangerous and high-scoring partnership from the off.
