What is The Hundred?
EXPLAINERWhat is The Hundred? The 100 ball competition. Everything you need to know.
Summer 2020 sees The Hundred begin. A new 100-ball competition. Cricket like never before. Are you ready?
100 BALLS. SEVEN CITIES. EIGHT TEAMS.
Birmingham. Cardiff. Leeds. London (two teams). Manchester. Nottingham. Southampton. Women’s and men’s. Eight teams, each gunning for glory for their city.
WHO WILL MAKE YOUR TEAM?
Inspirational talent from the England women’s and men’s teams. International stars. The best cricketers in the country. The men's players were selected in the first ever The Hundred Draft on 20 October 2019. See the full squads here. The women's teams have their own bespoke selection process. Read more here.
100 BALLS PER TEAM. EVERY ONE COUNTS.
Each team bats and bowls 100 balls, 5 or 10 at a time. Each one a chance for glory. A bowler has up to 20 chances for glory per game. Any strike of the bat could make all the difference. Are you ready?
NEED A BREATHER. TIME FOR A TIMEOUT.
The bowling side gets to take a 150-second timeout. They can choose when they use it. To regroup. To turn the tide. Just think of the greatest moments in cricket. Which might have been different with a chance to reset and go again?
